Explode CTR On Your Blog Using The “Action Message Strategy”

The most important real estate on your blog is your “Action Message.”  That is, if you really want to make a killing, and get people to CLICK on the important links of your blog that you are focused on,  then using the “Action Message” strategy is highly effective.

You will notice at the end of every post and page on this site is my ACTION MESSAGE, a dotted lined box with a flash blinking Click Here image.

This is how you set it up. You first have to install the “What Would Seth Godin Do plugin.” We will use this plug-in to display an iFrame that automatically sits on top of every Post and/or Page in our blog. Every time a visitor comes to our blog we want to present them a direct path to our offer – this is the way to do it.

Where it says “http://yahoo.com” – change that to the (hidden) HTML page that carries your “action message”. This can be a regular HTML page that you keep in a folder somewhere on your site.

If you want to switch out or change your “Action Message”, simply go to the page and alter it. Instantly, your “action message” will reflect that change across every Post on your blog.!

Where it says “Repetition” – set that to 5000. This way the action message will always show.

NOTE: On the “Settings” > “WWSGD” – make sure to have “Location of Message” set to “Before Post” for increased clicks. If you select “Posts Only” but want your action message iframe to show up on some pages you create,  simply paste this code on top of the Page:

!<?php wwsgd_the_message(); ?>

IMPORTANT: For the!<?php wwsgd_the_message(); ?> code to work in your Pages – install the “PHP Execution” plug-in from the “Plugins” > “Add New” interface. There is no set up needed for PHP Execution – it works fresh out of the box.

More About the “Action Message” (iFrame)

When setting up your blog, make sure to present the people in your market with your “Action Message” which is displayed inside an iFrame that we manufactured by using the WWSGD plug-in.

It is the most important real estate on your blog as it guides your people to where they need to be – to your offer page.

Inside the “Action Message” you can display literally anything you can imagine – here are a few options:

  • An opt-in form with a small blurb of text – offering free stuff in exchange for their email address.
  • A video with an opt-in form – again a great way to get people on your list.
  • A picture of a product you’re selling as an affiliate, that leads to your offer / pre-sell page.
  • A small survey combined with a free offer and opt-in.
  • A super short pre-sell that links directly to a CPA offer.
  • AdSense!
  • You can even display a CPA / affiliate offer directly inside the “Action Message”
  • You can even drop cookies 🙂

The list is endless. The really cool thing is that the contents of the iFrame (your “Action Message”) doesn’t sit directly on your blog, it actually can be hosted wherever you wish.!

Another good thing about this is that it is excellent for testing a multitude of “Action Messages”.

I host my “Action Messages” in a seperate folder on my domain ie. — http://mydomain.com/actionmessage/

Whenever I start a new promotion I will create one HTML page containing one “Action Message,” which is hosted in that folder. When the traffic starts coming – usually within hours, you can start to test “Action Messages” and track the success of each message.!

By doing it this way, you will be making sure that you present your visitors with the offer they appreciate the most.

Tracking is easily done using the GoCodes free plugin, or if you want a more robust tracker, URL Cloaker, and cookie dropper, I use Affiliate Link Bomber.

If you want to use my flash Click Here image, simply right click on your mouse, and “save as” to your hard drive.

Yours in knowledge,

Mark
